Quiet Things, 2005, A photo installation in the barracks, Liestal
An order following a contest, permanent installation
The usual man and machine dominated perception of the army is contrasted
with motifs from the barrack’s housekeeping. The photo installation
covering the entire wall shows daily living spaces and their
standardization in the large scale organization of the barracks. They
play with the common dimensions of the known objects and direct the
attention towards these unspectacular but nevertheless essential areas.
